2/ Hoi An - countryside: day trip
 
Tour from Hoi An to countryside: The Central coastal lowlands are affected by monsoon from October to January; the itinerary with beach activities is subject to weather conditions.
 
Experience a day with the local people in the rural outskirts of Hoi An. Start your morning with a leisurely 4km bike ride through the countryside, heading to Tra Que vegetable village. Stroll around vegetable gardens, join the farmers to prepare the land and learn the local form of fertilization using seaweed from the local lake. Learn the gardening methods and how they cultivate the vegetables, followed by a local boat trip to Cua Dai Sea to visit a fishing village where you will get the chance to work with local fishermen and find out about traditional fishing methods. Learn to differentiate traditional fishing tools, how to cast a net - and catch some fish! - And how to ride the basket boat. A late lunch will be served on your boat. Cham Island, 25 nautical miles off the coast from Hoi An, consists of seven small islands. Famous for their marine life and beautiful beaches, take a 30 minute private speed-boat ride for insight into what makes Cham Island popular. Visit a traditional fishing village, a shelter for boats in bad weather, and Ong temple, dedicated to a whale buried there. For the adventurous, try snorkeling at Xep beach before ending the trip at Chong beach for swimming, relaxing and a delicious seafood lunch at a simple local restaurant. Cruise back to Hoi An. 4/ Hoi An - My Son & My Lai: day trip
 
My Son considered one of the best-preserved Cham centers in Vietnam, this is the former capital of the ancient Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the 2nd to the 13th century. The 1.5-hour drive in the morning will bring you to My Son, where there are 20 ancient monuments still standing today, set in a verdant valley surrounded by hills and overlooked by massive Cat's Tooth Mountain. Stroll around the temple complex to learn about the Cham culture, architecture and civilization. Drive another 2.5 hours to My Lai for remnants of the American war – a large memorial to the horrific war atrocities which took place one day in 1968. 6/ Hue - The ancient city

Hue served as an imperial capital to the Nguyen Lords, a feudal dynasty which reigned from the 17th to 19th century. With splendid emperors’ tombs, ancient pagodas and the remains of the Citadel, the city retains its Royal charm. Start the cultural integration with a 10-min cycle tour from your hotel to the Imperial Citadel. Take a stroll to explore the history and architecture around the Capital Citadel (the bastion), Royal Citadel (the sanctum), and the Forbidden Citadel (the royal family’s residence). From there, a 20-min cycle ride will take you to the boat docking station, where you will embark on a half-hour boat trip on the picturesque Perfume River to visit Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s best-preserved religious monument. Standing on the riverbank with its seven-storey tower, the pagoda is a sight to behold. After enjoying royal Hue cuisine at the Ancient Hue Restaurant, drive out 30 minutes to the serene Tu Duc Royal Tomb, designed to blend in with the natural surroundings. An incense stick making house makes for an interesting stop before heading to the elaborate Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, architecture and atmosphere showcase elements of eastern art and western designs.

7/ Hue - garden houses: half day trip
 
The garden houses in Hue is a display of heritage of the lives of former aristocrats in Hue, as most garden houses have a connection with the Imperial Court. Some are descendents of royalty or mandarins; others received patronage from the royal family. See history before your eyes at An Hien garden house, situated 30 minutes out of town and originally the residence of Emperor Duc’s 18th daughter. The house is an excellent example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. Massive pillars support a large tiled roof, with the family altar in the middle, while a large rectangular lily-pond separates the windscreen and the house. Another great example of a garden house is the former home of Princess Ngoc Son, a classic structure with three bays and two wings. The highlight is a small artificial rock garden. The present owner also has a fascinating collection of artifacts and mementos from the days of the Empire. Enjoy lunch with Hue specialties prepared by the family at the home, surrounded by history. Start your day enjoying a great cultural feature inherited from the Nguyen Dynasty, Royal Martial Arts held at the Temple of the Left Commanding General Le Van Duyet, who served under Gia Long King of the 1800s. The 10th generation of family members still resides there. View a fascinating half-hour performance of different martial arts, reminiscent of the past heroic plots of Vietnamese patriots against colonialists’ suppression. Continue to the studio/home of celebrated artist Le Huy who specializes in lacquer painting, followed by admiring over 250 sculptures, embroidered pictures and others made of precious metals and wood at the private home of renowned academician and sculptor, the late Diem Phung Thi. Day 3: Hoi An - Danang - Hue
Embark on a scene 3-hour drive to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 until 1945. The drive passes through Danang before climbing over the Pass of the Ocean Clouds where the summit provides a spectacular panoramic view of the central coastline, which drops down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co located on a jutting sand dune. Upon arrival in Hue, transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is dedicated to a visit to the Imperial Citadel rich with Royal history and life. Overnight in Hue (Breakfast)
 
Day 4: Hue
