DETAIL ITINERARY
DAY 01: ARRIVE AT POIPET BORDER
At Thai-Cambodia border in Aranyaprathet, cross to Poipet in the Cambodia side where your guide will meet you and transfer to Battambang, 293km from Phnom Penh capital and Cambodia’s second largest city. Along the way, we will stop for photos opportunities of peaceful rural scenes. Lunch is at Sisophon. Arrival at Battambang, check in at the hotel. Dinner is at the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Battambang.

DAY 02: BATTAMBANG TOUR
In the morning, explore this picturesque city - as with much of Cambodia, the French architecture is an attractive bonus of the city. Lunch is at a local restaurant. Drive to the site of an ancient temple called Phnom Banon in the afternoon. Built in the 10th century as a Hindu temple atop a mountain, it is located 30km from Battambang town. Dinner is at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Battambang.

DAY 03: BATTAMBANG TOUR
Enjoy full day excursion to Pailin, formerly the largest Khmer Rouge stronghold and a place for rubies, sapphires and other precious stones. Residents here were former Khmer Rouge civilians and soldiers who defected to the government in 1998. Upon arrival at Pailin, drive around the town for a sightseeing tour followed by lunch. Return to Battambang in the afternoon and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Battambang.

DAY 04: BATTAMBANG - SIEM REAP
In the morning, take a 5-hour boat journey to Siem Reap, enjoying the scenery of natural landscape and floating villages along the way - this is one of the most fascinating cruises in Cambodia. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, a pleasant sleepy backwater city serving as a gateway to the ancient capital of Angkor, transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch is at local restaurant. Rest and relax for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 05: SIEM REAP TOUR
In the morning, enjoy a fun tuk-tuk ride to the royal city of Angkor Thom. At first glance, it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals enigmatic faces looking at every direction, with half-closed eyes, all looking content and serene. Continue your exploration by visiting Elephant Terrace served as a platform from which to view his victorious returning army and the Leper King Terrace with perfect carvings winding along a narrow passage way. Afternoon, visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat, one of the world’s most impressive temple ruins constructed  between 9th and 13th centuries. The temple still owns hundreds of fine carvings of Apsara and Hindu mythology. Stroll around the massive hallways and discover small shrines still in use today by the local people. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 06: SIEM REAP TOUR
After breakfast, continue your culture tour with a visit to the picturesque Ta Prohm, a jungle-clad temple with overgrown trees, giving a haunting and exotic atmosphere. The magnificent roots of a tree push itself between the temple’s huge stone blocks in an embrace, emphasizing the ‘lost city’ feel. A 35km drive to the rural outskirts in the afternoon brings you to the jewel of Khmer art, Banteay Srei temple. Its red sand-stone walls are decorated with elaborate carvings and in an amazing state of preservation. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 07: SIEM REAP - PHNOM PENH BY AIR
Morning, transfer to airport for flight to Phnom Penh. With ochre-colored colonial buildings, bustling squares, trendy cafés, and frangipani-lined boulevards, Phnom Penh has the atmosphere of a provincial French town Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check in. Set out on a city tour to visit the National Museum which houses Khmer art and sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history and the Royal Palace, built in 1866 by King Norodom and home to the Silver Pagoda, so named because its floor is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. End the day shopping at the Russian market. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 08: PHNOM PENH TOUR
In 1975, the radical Khmer Rouge party, under its leader Pol Pot, seized power and declared ‘year zero’. In the next 3 years, an estimated 2 million Cambodians died, many from starvation and exhaustion, while others were tortured and executed for being ‘enemies of the state’. Learn more about these terrible years through a visit to the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum and Cheung Ek, better known as the Killing Fields, where large numbers of people were killed and buried in mass graves. Not much to see these days but the ground with large holes and accommodative stupa filed with the skulls of the victims. Explore the city and the markets on your own for the rest of the day. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 09: PHNOM PENH - SIHANOUKVILLE
Why not spend a few lazy days on a pristine stretch of sand before returning home? After breakfast, transfer to the beach resort Sihanoukville, a journey of around 3.5 hours. With white sand beaches, warm waters, and a laid back atmosphere, Sihanoukville provide a great little tropical getaway. Arrive around midday and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Sihanoukville.

DAY 10 & 11: SIHANOUKVILLE FREE & EASY
Breakfast at hotel. Free at your leisure - swim or relax on the beach with vehicle and guide at disposal. Overnight in Sihanoukville.

DAY 12: SIHANOUKVILLE - PHNOM PENH
Breakfast at hotel and morning at your leisure. After lunch head back to Phnom Penh with a short side trip to see the pine forests at Kirirom National Park. Transfer to hotel on arrival in Phnom Penh. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 13: PHNOM PENH DEPARTURE
After breakfast, spend the time at you leisure until transfer to Pochentong Airport for departure flight.
